"Artefact" dissects Post-Digital music as a continuation of three distinct attitudes in modern Western Art Music: Minimalism, Microsound and the compositional use of noise. The Post-Digital “aesthetics of failure” are explored in new media and artefacts of modern digital systems are exposed. Images and webpages are translated into sound, the contents of audio files are corrupted and the by-products of digital audio systems are captured. “Artefact” continues the conversation driven by the “aesthetics of failure”, questioning the act of consumption, production and reproduction of digital musics.
