Spreading awareness about digital waste
Internet pollution contributes significantly to global greenhouse emissions and is a persistent problem that tends to be overlooked by us all. The carbon footprint of the information technology(IT) sector is similar to that of the aviation industry. In 2025, it is predicted that one-fifth of global electricity will be needed to power the internet alone.
To shed light on this topic, I created a podcast series and utilised social media and a website as mediums to share relevant content on digital carbon footprint and reduction tips based on standard digital practices, which will be helpful for the users to reduce their digital impact on the environment.
