MemoMind: Understanding the role of digital technology in addressing forgetfulness

This study delves into the dynamic evolution of memory within the digital cultural landscape, with a central emphasis on the prevalent challenge of forgetfulness in everyday life. It provides a profound understanding of the intricate interplay involving human memory, technology, and psychological mechanisms. Significantly, it underscores the pronounced reliance on technology as a memory aid, propelled by factors such as stress, disorganisation, health concerns, and information overload. Through a comprehensive exploration encompassing diverse demographics, including students and professionals, and with the intent to extend insights to older adults, the research unveils the multi-dimensional nature of memory recall.

A pivotal revelation is the enduring impact of memories born from traumatic events, which give rise to the development of enduring coping strategies. In contrast, tasks of lesser significance often receive minimal attention. The study accentuates the distinctive nature of coping strategies and behavioural tendencies. Despite technology's pervasive ubiquity, it highlights its role in facilitating awareness, habit cultivation, and adaptable lifestyles. Rather than supplanting human cognitive capacities, digital tools can prompt self-realisation through subtle, trauma-induced effects, compelling individuals to focus on crucial elements without external cues.

The research advocates for a provocative approach, employing digital tools to enhance memory while preserving innate human capacities for recall and connection by creating a mild traumatic incident. It underscores the value of nurturing meaningful relationships, crafting personalised coping mechanisms, and sustaining a continuous exploration of how technology can strengthen human memory and cognitive abilities, rather than replace them.

Subsequently, the developed mobile application, named "MemoMind," casts light on user behaviour, particularly following traumatic events. By monitoring user engagement with the application, it unveils how memories originating from such incidents influence their interactions, thereby deepening the comprehension of coping mechanisms and memory retention.
